Setting Up the Spinbara Web App
A progressive web app (PWA) acts much like a native install, with a home-screen icon and a full-screen display, yet it is still the same website beneath. No separate download needs to be trusted.
Installation by platform
iPhone (Safari)
In Safari, the Share icon leads to "Add to Home Screen"; the name is confirmed and Add is tapped.
Android (Chrome)
In Chrome, the menu (â‹®) offers "Add to Home screen", or the install banner can be used when it shows up.
Reasons to prefer the PWA to an APK
- It comes straight from the browser rather than from a downloaded file
- The latest release of the site loads each time, so updates are never manual
- Permissions are limited to those the browser already holds, with no extra request
